Day After Reading Issue N°2
An editorial design project created under the direction of Ludovic Balland during a 5-day intensive workshop. I worked in collaboration with a team of 5 to create a text and photo layouts for a newspaper featuring interviews of Valencia, California's residents discussing their experience of the news. I contributed to exploration of type layouts, photo layouts, photo editorial, and copy editing after each interview.
Branding of Softwear, fictional company that produces knitwear for devices. These products go beyond protecting the device from weather and damage by humanizing its needs. My patterns mimick traditional winter knit patterns, but created with binary code.
CalArts Jazz CD
Proposed cover for a version of the annual CalArts' Jazz CD. More images to come.
A website for CalArts' Gallery Nights, which I have re-envisioned as Gallery Knights. This proposed event features fully-armored knights jousting in the school's main gallery.
Collisions Against a Surface
A 10.5"x14" self-curated exhibition book. It features the interviews of 4 artists who work with large inflatables. As these pieces disrupt and question the space they exist within, my typography effected the page in a similar manner
Slipper Flower Patterns
Packaging for Greek cookies and vintage-inspired jewelry. The patterns are based on floral ornaments of the Slipper Flower, which are drawn in the styles of different cultures' ornamentation.
This project draws a parallel between the cursor position of the web and radar. While only able to see the coordinates of ones mouse, they navigate the history of radar.

In this two-sided 24"x36" poster, I explored the past and present of Oklahoma. One side investigates the racial intricacies of the state's history, including its disappearing Native languages and the early state's all black towns. The other compares and contrasts the ecology and human geography of Oklahoma.

Designs for an image-based and type-based poster set for a potential exhibition at the Los Angeles Hammer Museum. Post Figure would showcase a group of artists whose work depict their imaginings of the future human figure, as effected by environmental, technological, and political change.

1920's Design Timeline
An 11x42.5" timeline that contains as much information of the design of the time period. I focused on the "isms" of art and politics during the 1920's, refering the layout of Hans Arp and El Lissitzsky's "Isms of Art" book.
Two quick experiments playing with the media query function—what allows a website to be responsive at different sizes. The third is an assignment to give personalities to different buttons in css. I found a list of the main "illuminati numbers", which turned out to be all of them. I picked the best.
Two 30x40" posters about the history of the blowdryer. One presents the information neutrally, while the other takes the function of the machine into the design idea.
This project involved developing 5 words describing an animal into a set of symbols. These symbols were then combined using various methodologies. The final posters showcased the symbols using these methodologies.
I created 50 images of candlestick telephones in 50 different illustration styles. Shown here are some of my favorites.
The Visual Contrast book catalogs progressing exercises in controlling the composition of 6 visual principles: scale, space, form, direction, weight, and texture. Here are examples utlizing all 5 visual contrasts.

High Fructose Corn Syrup
This logotype expresses the sugary substance with a hidden dark side. In this design, the idea of artificial linearity plays in contrast to dark, oozing letterforms as they conceal sections of one another.
